Not With Your Kids for Family Day?

If you are among the percent of single dads who won’t celebrate Family Day with their children this weekend, it doesn’t mean you can’t have a celebration of your own at a different time!  Creating new traditions when your family lives in two homes is imperative for establishing new bonds and redefining your new family structure.  Acknowledging all celebrations and holidays with your children helps ease the anxiety associated with the transition from one home to two homes. Traditions bond us as a family and as such are especially important now.  Add some new ones and keep some of the ones they are used to .  If you can’t be together on the actual day then take time to plan another day and time to celebrate with your children.    Have a wonderful Family Day weekend no matter how or when you plan to celebrate it.  This is your family –  this is your day.
